I often don’t feel like a girl. I mean, I don’t go around thinking “I’m a girl, I’m a girl, I’m a girl.” I just am. That’s why it always unsettles me when guys point it out or treat me differently for my looks or my gender. That’s why I feel strange when I have sudden urges to put on lipstick or mascara and be feminine since more often than not I feel neutral at best. I am alien to myself. “Girl” is not the right word.
